Regular Concert Series 1 - 2008

Meet the soloists:

Megan Driscoll

Violinist & Lawyer

Megan started playing a cardboard box with ruler at the age of 3. She eventually moved onto an instrument that made sound in the form of an actual wooden violin and hasn't stopped playing since. Starting with the Suzuki method, she ultimately migrated to the AMEB system and gained her Associate of Music Diploma (AmusA) in 1992. Always finding orchestral playing to be a highlight, over the years Megan has been a member of the Armidale Youth Orchestra, Armidale Symphony Orchestra, New England Sinfonia, National Music Camp orchestras and the University of Queensland orchestra. Megan joined the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra in 2002 after being dragged along by a friend. She has recently taken up lessons again after a long hiatus of 13 years and is thoroughly enjoying it.

In her other life, Megan is a lawyer specialising in the field of immigration, through which she endeavours to defend non-Australians against the great might of the Australian government in the form of the Department of Immigration.
