Review of the concert performed with the Sunshine Coast Oriana Concert Choir. Excerpt taken from the Letters to the Editor in the Sunshine Coast Daily, written by A Royal from Diddillibah. (Click on the image to open a larger view)

Hi Antoni,
I attended the concert today and was 'blown away'. It was lovely to just sit in the audience and let the music wash over me. You should be very happy with the concert and choir was magnificent.
Cheers,
BG
Please pass this on - I just loved this afternoon's concert! It was the first time I had attended a BSO concert and I am very impressed. The Barber 'Adagio' touched me and, because I was sitting close to the stage, I could really appreciate the skill needed to keep all the parts together. The choir is excellent. I have sung in a choir that performed Mozart's 'Requiem' (in the Church of the Madeleine in Paris a very long time ago!) so I was jigging along and following every note and I thought it was performed very well indeed. Maybe you could make a CD of it to be a companion to the Messiah!

Dear Mr Bonetti,
We wish to express our gratitude for a wonderful performance of the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra on Bribie Island yesterday.
The Bach Concerto was beautifully played and of course the Csardas was an extra treat. All other pieces were equally as enjoyable as they are rarely played.
We are particularly fortunate to be able to hear your performance in the new hall which is so much better in acoustic capability.
We just like to make one suggestion:
Could you please advertise your forthcoming programs more frequently in all 4 local papers (Northern Times, Caboolture Herald, Bribie Weekly and Bribie Island News) so as to make a larger audience aware of your visits.
Thanking you again for a most enjoyable afternoon.

I hope your Brisbane
concert went as well as here at The Lake Kawana
Centre.
I thought it was one of the best concerts we have had
here, and a wonderful experience for
children.

Thank you for giving the Peninsular music lovers such a
wonderful concert at Mueller College today. Your
performance was better than ever and I look forward to
attending more of your concerts both here and in other
areas. If you have your yearly programme available I
would like to receive it.
Thank you again

My sister and I
travelled from Brisbane today to attend your performance
at the Mueller Performing Arts Centre with a friend who
lives locally. I have never been a fan of Mahler but this
afternoon I was very captivated with the works and your
Orchestra's performance - it was wonderful. I have been
to a few of your Orchestra's performances and enjoy your
conducting technique. Such a shame that the audience was
so few and I hope there will be a good attendance
tomorrow.

Bravo!!
I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed today's
performance!! It's such a wonderful work, so full of
emotion, and BSO's performance today at times brought
tears to my eyes and then made my heart want to 'burst'.
Of course I was most impressed with the cello section.
They really rocked. Altogether it presented really well.
Fabulous sound, excellent solos and great 'ensemble'....
so much more than you'd expect from a community
orchestra. I think they deserved a pay packet for that
one!

A stunning concert. I
loved the acoustic of the hall. I could hear every
instrument individually, so nowhere for anyone to hide,
and yet still enjoy the overall tapestry created in each
piece.
Both times I have heard
BSO I have come away thinking that the performances are
right at the edge of mainstream. Firebird was stunning.
And now the Mahler required prodigious concentration over
a long continuous period, no ADD here.
Congratulations to all
the Thomson family members.
