In the Wars:
In 1977 the first Star Wars movie was unleashed on the
world, 30 years later and in the 75th year of composer
John
Williams we present a concert featuring the concert suite
from Star Wars and other works on a military theme.

2007's 4MBS Classic FM Festival of Classics
featured the music of Sir Edward Elgar in the 150th year
of his birth. We played two of his compositions, the
overture ‘In the South’ inspired by a holiday
at Allesio
in southern Italy, and the Introduction and Allegro for
strings with guest artists the Latrobe String Quartet as
soloists.
This concert also gave us the opportunity to showcase a
work often requested by the members of the orchestra,
the colourful Symphony Fantastique of Berlioz.
